Marco Annunziata is Co-Founder of Annunziata + Desai Advisors, providing expertise on economics, innovation and business strategy. Marco is the former Chief Economist and Head of Business Innovations Strategy at GE and served as a member of the Board of Advisors on Information Technology at Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He has been a Research Fellow at Autodesk and an Entrepreneur in Residence at GE Ventures. His expertise centres on the interplay between technological innovation, corporate strategy and global economic trends.
Author of “The Economics of the Financial Crisis: Lessons and New Threats,” published by Palgrave MacMillan, Marco is a two-times winner of the Rybczynski Prize for best paper in business economics, awarded by the Society of Business Economists in London, and has written a number of papers on the latest technological innovations in industry and their economic impact. He has given a TED talk on innovation, has published in the Harvard Business Review and other economics and finance publications and has given lectures at Harvard Business School and Stanford University. Marco blogs regularly on Forbes and co-hosts a podcast on digital-industrial innovation: M4Edge, with Michael Leifman.
Marco has extensive experience in the private financial sector (Unicredit and Deutsche Bank) and policy making (International Monetary Fund). He holds a PhD in Economics from Princeton and lives in San Francisco.
